Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
The ministry of the ECW is open to all women who are members of St. James.
The mission of the St. James Episcopal Church Women is to bring together all women of the parish to strengthen our spiritual lives and support our Christ-centered service and ministry. Through our life and work together, woman to woman, we have a unique opportunity to experience the Divine Feminine in our midst.
ECW hosts fundraising events to support the St. James mission of feeding and tending God’s sheep. Highlights include helping with expenses for a college band trip to Carnegie Hall in New York City, contributing to the Jim Muir Kamp for Kids and Camp Billy Johnson, supporting Campus Crusade for Christ on the UT campus and the Rector’s Discretionary Fund, co-hosting the Easter brunch along with the Men’s Group Easter breakfast, hosting the Knoxville General Hospital reunion, hosting the East Tennessee Diocese ECW annual meeting and luncheon, and helping with a very special 50th wedding anniversary. Our rummage sales have been phenomenal, usually clearing in the thousands, and we work very hard for the success of our yearly craft fair.
ECW deeply appreciates your contributions and support because we couldn’t do what we do without you.
Meetings of the ECW are generally on the third Saturday of a the odd-numbered months. Please, check your St. James calendar or the St. James webpage for the specific meeting dates. Every woman is welcome.
