Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is made up of women and men, who work with the priest in preparing the altar for services. There are no special requirements to be a member. New members are guided by others until they feel comfortable in performing the duties.
Currently four groups who each serve approximately once every three months. Each group’s service begins on a Monday and continues through the Sunday of the following week. The group prepares the altar for any service that occurs during those two weeks.
The Altar Guild is responsible for the care of the fair linens, ordering wafers, hosts, and wine.
The groups usually meet on Saturday mornings for about an hour to set up for the Sunday services. Then after the service, the group puts things away.
The entire Altar Guild meets twice a year.
A huge benefit of being a member of the Altar Guild is getting to know people you might not otherwise get to know. However, the greatest benefit is the joyful work done to the glory of God.
