II Vestry Direction-Finding
- The Vestry meet with Canon Stephen Askew, the Diocesan Deployment Officer & Senior Warden finds supply priests until an interim rector can be found √
- The Vestry conducts a search for an interim rector
- The Vestry develops a mandate for the Search Committee
III Appointment of Search Committee and Parish Self-Study
- Diocesan Consultant assists Vestry in selection of Search Committee (SC)
- SC gathers a wide range of information about the parish and its needs
- SC prepares a Parish Profile based on this information
- Search Request Form is prepared by SC and Consultant; it is approved by the Vestry, and sent to Canon Askew
IV Search
- SC begins securing names of possible Candidates; sets dead-line for applications.
- SC develops a list of candidates and submits it to Canon Askew and Bishop vonRosenberg
- SC conducts interviews with candidates
- SC develops a short list of 3-4 candidates and sends this list to Canon Askew and Bishop vonRosenberg
- SC makes a recommendation of the final candidate to the Vestry
V Decision
- Vestry decides whether to call the recommended candidate
- Vestry informs Bishop of the final candidate and solicits his final approval
- Vestry issues to call to the candidate
VI Negotiation and Conclusion of Search
- Vestry and candidate prepare a Letter of Agreement
- Vestry and candidate arrange how and when to announce the decision
VII Beginning of new Rector's ministry
- Celebration of a New Ministry
- Mutual Ministry Review (at end of first year or sooner)
